Allen R. Howard of 3974 Rt. 417 Lot 35 Allegany passed away Wed. Jan. 26, 2011 in the Olean General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Olean on June 29, 1950 and was the son of Robert H. and Helen M. Canfield Howard. He was formerly married to Susan M. Skiver. On July 2, 1994 in the Christ United Methodist Church, he married his wife Linda S. Foskit, who survives.
Allen attended Olean High School and the Batavia School for the Blind. He also attended Jamestown Community College in the mid 1990's for computer programming. Allen worked for St. Bonaventure University as a computer programmer for about 20 years until 1994.
Allen was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Olean Elks, Olean Veteran Club, Loyal Order of Moose and a member of the Olean St. Stephan's Club. He was a DJ for many weddings and parties and he went by the name of "Call Me Al Music Road show". He enjoyed music and computers.
Surviving besides his wife of 16 years are his mother and step father, Helen and Owen Graves of Olean; two sons, Christopher A. (Amber) Howard of Anahuac, Texas, and Jason A. (Charli) Howard of Olean; three grandchildren, Adriana G. Skillman, Riley M. Marble and Cooper L. Howard; four brothers, Gerald Howard of Olean, Lawrence (Cheri) Howard of Clarendon, NC, and Robert (Muriel) Howard of Olean; Daniel Howard of Ellington, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Howard was pre-deceased by his father and a brother Glen Fredrick Howard on Jan. 23, 2004.
Friends will be received on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011 in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean. From 2:00 to 3:00 pm at which time a Memorial Services will be held. The Rev. Kristen A.R. Allen, co-pastor of Christ United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Allegany Fire Department Ambulance Fund, Main Street Allegany, New York 14706.
