Donald J. Gadley of 6645 County Route 31, East Hill, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2011 at Jones Memorial Hospital, from injuries sustained in a work related accident at Dresser-Rand in Wellsville. Don was born August 25, 1965 in Kane, PA and was a son of Purcie S. and Elizabeth LaBarr Gadley Jr. On August 24, 1997, in Friendship, NY, he married his wife of 13 years, Mary M. Kay, who survives him. Don was a 1983 graduate of Kane High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He drove truck and worked construction, and most recently worked for about 20 years at Dresser-Rand in Wellsville. Don was an enjoyed playing baseball, which he played all through school and even continued to play after his active Navy service. He also enjoyed, horseback riding, hunting, and fishing. Don will be remembered a person who always put others first. He loved his wife an family and especially his grand children. Don was a member of Local Union Lodge #1580 (IAMAW). Surviving Don besides his wife are one son, Justin D. Gadley of Friendship, NY; two daughters, Courtney C. Gadley and Chelsea E. Gadley both of Friendship, NY; five grandchildren, Logan J., Hailee L., Skylar K., Serenity M. and Liam J. Gadley; his father and step mother, Purcie S. (Myrtie) Gadley Jr. of Ovett, MS; his stepfather, Douglas Morse of Friendship, NY; a grandmother, Otha Kaiser of Tiona, PA; five brothers, R. David (Susan) Gadley of Lucinda, PA, Ron J. (Juanita) Gadley of Madisonville, KY, William E. (JoAnn) Gadley of Jacksonville, FL; Brandon K. Gadley of Ovett, MS, and Shane D. (Tipsie) Gadley of Ovett, MS; four sisters, Bobbi K. (Patrick) Steed of Jacksonville, FL, Alice M. (Bryan) Woods of Shippenville, PA, Rikki Lyons of Winnemucca, NV, and Shannon Hannah of Warren, PA; and many many nieces and nephews. Mr. Gadley was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Morris in 2009 and a grandfather, Purcie S. Gadley Sr. in 1982. Friends will be received in the United Church of Friendship, on Main Street in Friendship, on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at which time funeral and committal services will be held. The Rev. Mark J. Chambers, Pastor of the Genesis Bible Church in Scio, a Close friend, will officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Belmont, NY. Flowers are gratefully declined; memorials may be made to Friendship Youth Athletics, 3613 Rt 275, Friendship.
