Obituary of Douglas L. Farwell

Douglas L. Farwell of 4800 Eggleston Drive, formerly of Maple Lane, Cuba, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2011 in the Orlando Health Hospital following a short illness. Doug was born on Aug. 28, 1958 in Olean and was a son of Donald R. & Arlene Joyce Farwell. He was formerly married to Vicky Winchell. Doug was a 1976 graduate of Hinsdale High School. He worked for Agway and then for Stroehmann Bakeries. Doug moved to Orlando in about 2001 where he worked as a mattress salesman first for Mattress Giant and most currently Mattress #1. He enjoyed reading and playing jokes on people. Surviving Doug are his father and step mother, Donald R. (Ruth) Farwell of Hinsdale; two sons, Kyle D. (Jessica) Farwell, and Ryan D. (Megan) Farwell both of Cuba; four grandchildren, Chloe, Natalie, Tanner, and Lilly Farwell; a sister, Dawn M. (Eric) Milyard of Devide, CO; and two step brothers, Richard (Tina) Ruggles of Hinsdale, and Chris (Andrea) Ruggles of Starr, SC. Doug was predeceased by his mother, Arlene Farwell on April 29, 1993; a step mother, Kathy Timme Farwell on April 23, 1998; and a step sister, Karen Stamps on March 12, 2003. There will be no public visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at a date and time to be announced.
