June K. Wallace of 1229 Plumb Street, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 in the Olean General Hospital surrounded by her loving husband and family.
June was born June 7, 1934 in Franklinville and was a daughter of Raymond and Mary Catherine Boser Cross. On October 4, 1952 at the Baptist Church in Franklinville, she married her husband of 63 years, Kenneth H. Wallace, who survives.
June graduated from Ten Brook Academy in Franklinville in 1951. She worked for Olean General Hospital in the Account Receivable Department for 26 years, retiring in 1992. June was a member of the Olean First Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending her summers going to Chatauqua Lake. June loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Along with her loving husband, June is survived by two children, Cathy L. (Michael) Sherman of Bradford, PA, and Alan K. (Susan) Wallace of Ashville; five grandchildren, Eric A. (Gina) Chaffee of Olean, Kyle K. Chaffee of Olean, Bradley R. (Elizabeth Woodhead) Chaffee of Olean, Ryan A. (Stephanie) Wallace of Matthews, NC, and Brent R. (Julie) Wallace of Charlotte, NC; four great grandchildren, Ethan, Elle, Seger, & Royce; two siblings, her twin sister, Jean (William) Kent of Stafford, and Blanch (Robert) Babbitt of Delmar; a sister-in-law, Delores Cross of Cuba; and several nieces & nephews.
June was predeceased by a brother, James R. Cross on Dec. 25, 2015.
Friends will be received at the Olean First Baptist Church on Thursday Aug. 4, 2016 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Millard C. Cook and Pastor Dan E. McDowell will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Franklinville.
