Obituary of Tommy W. Riggs

Tommy W. Riggs, Jr., of 321 N. 1st Street passed away, Sunday March 27, 2016, at his home following an extended illness. Tommy was born March 25, 1970, in Olean, a son of Tommy W. and Sandra Hurd Riggs, Sr. Tommy graduated from high school in Memphis, TN and continued his education at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN where he studied Computer Science. Tommy worked as a carpenter building homes in the Memphis, TN area for 15 years, before becoming disabled and returning to Olean. Tommy enjoyed his poetry and electronic music, but he also enjoyed woodworking and growing plants. He truly had a green thumb. Tommy is survived by two siblings, Angelia Riggs and John Riggs; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Tommy was predeceased by a sister, Tommylynn Riggs Downs in 2003. A Celebration of His Life will be held at the Family Church of Olean, #3421 Route 16, Olean on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Mike Anderson, Pastor, will officiate.
