Michael R. Polasik, Sr., 69, of 118 York Street, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016, at his home, following a long illness. Mike was born March 30, 1947 in Salamanca and was a son of Raymond and Maxine Myers Polasik. On August 11, 1972, he married his wife of 44 years, Marion S. Polasik, who survives. Mike was a long time employee of St. Bonaventure University in the vehicle maintenance department, retiring in 2014 after 27 years. He was an avid motorcyclist and animal lover. Along with his loving wife, Mike is survived by his 2 children, Melissa (Scott) Rybarczyk of Orchard Park, and Michael (Jaclyn) Polasik, Jr.of Hamburg; five granchildren, Anna, Gracie, Elaina, and Emily Polasik and Henry Rybarczyk; a brother, Mark Polasik; and a sister, Marcia Hardy of Fort Myers, FL. There will be a Memorial Gathering at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean on Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mike's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to HomeCare & Hospice of Olean for the wonderful nurses and aides who helped care for Mike during his final months.
