Maurice Walter "Mo" Middaugh, Sr., of 5220 County Road 31A, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at Jones Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Maurice was born March 4, 1935 in Amity and was a son of William Vincent "Toby" and Ruby Emily Sortore Middaugh, Sr. On October 9, 1971, he married his wife of 45 years, the love of his life, Ellen Osterhout, who survives.
Maurice worked as a farm laborer for the family farm and as a truck driver. He also worked at Dresser Rand for many years. Maurice was an avid hunter, well known horse puller, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was always willing to help anyone when they asked, day or night.
Along with his loving wife, Maurice is survived by eight children, Maurice (Mindy) Middaugh, Jr., Darlene (Rocky) Ford, Cindy (Philip Middaugh) Jefferds, Tammy Gelser, James Middaugh, Mike Clark, Louise (Ron) Kamrowski, and Bo (Brenda) Clark; Maurice was a proud grandfather of many grandchildren & great grandchildren, who were the love of his life; and eight siblings, Ralph (Ruth) Middaugh, Fred (Helen) Middaugh, Roger Middaugh, Doug (Carol) Middaugh, Don (Norma) Middaugh, Sr., Marilyn Miller, Joyce Clark, and Onlee (Darrel) Sharff.
Maurice was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Vincent Middaugh; and one sister, Marjorie Elliott.
At Maurice's request, no services will be planned. Burial will be in the spring at Mount Hope Cemetery in Friendship at a date and time to be announce.
